I don’t think anyone who visits the Garden of Gethsemane can leave without being amazed. I know I was. It’s the olive trees. They can live for 2,000 years, and look new and ancient at the same time. Was the tree in the picture a sapling when Jesus prayed in Gethsemane?
Over the years, decades, and centuries, the tree produces its olives. Imagine having something that is generous and serves you your whole life, and then your children, and grandchildren, and on and on.
But isn’t that the very picture of Jesus? He produces his fruit within our hearts and souls, and then for our children, and for their children, and on and on. He is both ancient and new, and has everything we need. He blesses us all our lives. So be grateful today; smile and be glad for Jesus our Messiah is flourishing!
Excellent thoughts!
